More Halladay rumours’s Carrie Muskat reported that the Jays contacted the Cubs re: Halladay. Before anyone gets too excited, Muskat pointed out that the Cubs can’t take on Halladay’s salary. So, the Cubs would likely have to move a few players (Milton Bradley) to be able to afford Halladay. The Jays probably have a nice wish list of prospects, which is sure to include SS Starlin Castro.

Bottom line, it’s just a rumour. Would Halladay even waive his no trade clause to go to the Cubs? 2009 wasn’t exactly the best year for the North siders. Probably the most interesting part of the article is “One thing the Blue Jays did make clear to the Cubs is they want to move Halladay this offseason.”
